Well I Finally Got Another Keyence Micro RC 1/70th Scale. I Had One Years Ago And Finally Found Another. The Set Is A T-300 Series Toyota Celica GT-R Model T-311. Size is 63 mm Long X 25 mm Wide X 18 mm High. The Car Comes With A 2 Channel Fully Digital Proportional Radio. The Car Is Charged By A Plug That Goes From The Radio To The Car. This Is By Far The Most Awesome Of Any I have!!! It Is Shown Beside A Bit-Charg Car To Show How Small It Really Is.

Yokomo 1/60th Scale Micro RC Racer (My New Favorite!)

Well this new one has to move to the top of the list as far as my favorites go. The box shows that the Yokomo vans are available in 6 different frequencies. The radio control takes 8 AA batteries and really has the feel of quality, it reminds me of my past 10th scale racing days!! The van is about the speed of a BitChar-G with a 2.2 motor, maybe just a little slower. The true beauty on this one is the level of control at slow speed which is just what I want. You can drive an obstacle course, parallel park and just have a blast. I recommend that you run this car on a kitchen table top with a table cloth for traction. Make sure the table cloth is clean and free of loose material. On the linoleum floor in the kitchen just like BitChar-G cars under full throttle it turns better to one side than the other. On a table cloth it works great in either direction, it just needs something to get its LITTLE wheels to hook up to. The turning radius is about 10 inches in either direction at slow speed when the front tires have good traction. The van is about 2.5" in length and has very nice details like clear headlight lenses, red tail light lenses Honda emblem on front & back and even silver paint on the side mirrors. Overall in my opinion the better detail than the DidgQ, BitChar-G or I-Racer. The van takes about 12 minutes to fully charge and runs for about 5 to 6 minutes. See below for charging instructions. P.S. I like the detail on the Honda the best.

Yokomo Charging Instructions: Click On Images To Enlarge

1) Make sure the switch on the bottom of the van is in the "CH/OFF position. See picture one below.

2) Connect the charging cable between the controller and the van. Use caution to ensure the plug is in the correct orientation when connecting to the van. See picture 2 below.

3) Move the switch on the end of the controller to the "CH" position, see picture three. The red light will come on.

4) Press the "Charge Start" button on the face of the controller, see picture four. The green light will begin to flash during the charge cycle (~12 minutes). When the green light stops flashing move the switch on the end of the controller to the "Off" position, see picture three. Disconnect the charge cable, turn the radio switch to the on position, turn on the car and you are ready to have a blast!!!!!! This has to be the coolest Micro RC car ever made!!! Once running you made need to make some minor adjustments to the steering and throttle trim adjustments on the face of the controller.

Note: Don't forget to install the antenna before running the van.

DigiQ Details

These cars run off infra-red light control. Car has variable speed and steering is controlled by each rear wheel having its own motor. Front wheels provide no steering. Controller has two settings "EASY" allows slower speed and good control of the car. The "Normal" setting is completely radical in speed!!! You would need a fairly large area to be able to control these little babies in the "Normal" setting. Car has two Nickel Hydride (or something like that) batteries and are charged by setting the car on the contacts on the controller. 10 minutes of charge equals 15 minutes of run time. Four different radio channels available for racing against each other. A real BLAST!!! Harder to find and more expensive than the BitChar-G cars. Some other items are available but I don't have any to take pictures of like a Super controller, IR booster, Combat DigiQ, Racetrack

New DigiQ Combat Tank (German Tiger 1 Shown)

Well this one is close to moving into my favorite position but not quite. Some day if I can afford a second one and can have a battle it will most likely move into first place!  The tank comes mostly assembled with only some small pieces to install you can see the parts tree in the picture below. Length of the body is less than 2.25". The tanks run on infrared like just like the DigiQ cars. They have 4 different channels available and any of the tanks can be programmed to any of the channels. This allows up to four players to battle at one time. Combat DigiQ Tanks are micro RC tanks that shoot infrared beams to compete with other players in war games. There are five different types of game play: Practice mode, battle mode, war game mode, team practice mode and team battle mode. In battle and war mode there are life credits, reload delay and ammo limits. The tanks have 360° turning capabilities and forward and reverse. Tanks recharge on the controller, requires 4 AA batteries. This is an awesome new toy that is very powerful, they run fairly slow due to the low gearing but can really climb. If you have one or plan on getting one please make sure to visit the following link for detailed instructions in English. A special thanks to fellow RC fanatic Steve Okamoto for sending me the link. Just click on cancel as soon as the "Install On Demand" translator starts. The regular page will then download and work fine. Here's a second link with great detailed instructions: KIDROBOT.COM. Will keep you posted if some day I get a second one and try out the battle mode.

BitChar-G Details

Tomica Tomy BitChar-G Cars shown below. These cars run on radio frequency and come in 27MHz, 35MHz, 45MHz & 57MHz. The speed is on/off from the controller with no variable speed. Front wheels turn the car as this one only has one motor. Car is very easy to control and has Hop-Up parts available as shown below. One Ni-Cad battery that charges from the controller. 45 second charge time equals 2 minutes run time. Really cool looking and a blast to run!! There are also additional extras like  bodies, axles, racing bumpers, multi channel controller, race track, etc. available. Sorry I don't have any of these items to take pictures of.

The Latest Release WildChar-G  Raise Tiger

This is the brand new WildChar-G truck that has a working lift on the front. The control has an extra button on the top that runs the lift separate from the speed and steering controls. This is one cool little set that can be run with the lift setup or with a really nice removable hood. The lift has good power and is  fun to run. In my opinion I think Tomica has a hit on their hands, that should separate them from all the current knock-offs that have come out lately. Includes a nice set of decals that have been applied in the pictures.

Below is the new 2 speed car with the new 4 channel controller. This controller will also work with the one speed Bitchar-G cars for steering and one speed just like the regular controller. There is a switch on the back that in position one runs the original cars in any of the four frequencies. In position 2 the new two speed cars run in low speed and in position 3 they run in high speed. The new controller is very nice looking and it's cool to be able to run all your cars with one controller. I hope some day that Tomy will develop a true fully digital proportional steering and speed car in this size. That would be AWESOME!!!

Epoch 1/43 Scale Racers (SecondFavorite)

Here's the pictures of my first of the EPOCH 1/43 scale racers. These cars are about 4" in length and have a speed control system that will let you race or go slow enough to parallel park and drive slow through an obstacle course. It has a HI/LO setting on the control to allow two levels of control. It also has settings to adjust steering and speed trim. These are not the MIRCO size as they are 1/43 scale. Until Tomy adds a speed control on the BitChar-G this is the way to go. The cost is more than the Tomy cars but the control you get is awesome and they're only about 4" long!! The blue Subaru Impreza & red Mitsubishi Lancer are the newer Spec-2 version that allows for hop-up parts to be added. COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!! AAA+++ in my book.
