Stomper Pulling Rules
General Rules
1. Drivers will draw numbers for pulling order
2. First puller has the option to pull over at the end of the round but must use the 2 nd measurement.
3. All vehicles of a present class must be teched before the first driver pulls. Once a vehicle is teched, it must be placed on the staging table and may not be removed unless granted permission by an event official.
4. Winning drivers and vehicles must remain at the staging table until positions have been awarded.
5. The event officials will oversee the boundaries, shutdown and staging areas. Calls by track judge are not protestable.
6. Length of Full Pull is 60"
7. Width of the pulling track is 12"
8. Pull is stopped and marked when the sled is no longer moving or when the vehicle goes off the track or out of bounds.
9. Because of lack of control of a battery operated vehicle, once the vehicle leaves the starting point the driver can bump the vehicle once to guide it back on track. You cannot pick up the truck during the pull. You are not allowed to push down on the vehicle if it loses traction even if you have not touched the vehicle prior to its losing traction.
10. If the vehicle flips on its side or top, it is disqualified.
11. If a malfunction with the sled or chain arises, puller will be allowed to re-hook or wait until the end of the round to re-pull. The 1 st driver still has the option to pull after this driver.
12. If anything falls off of the vehicle while its pulling, being hooked up or unhooked from the sled, it will be disqualified.
13. Hitch may be stock bumper or a round eye screw may be used. The hitch should not be more than 1 " from flat surface.
14. If two or more pullers tie or make Full Pulls they will pull again after the round is completed. A minimum of 3oz. must be added to sled for the pull-off. The Stock Stomper 4x4 Class should start out with 10oz. in the sled. Batteries may not be changed before the pull-off.
15. Items and/or modifications not specifically addressed in the individual classes or covered by the general rules are not allowed.
16. Suggestions of change or additions to rules must be submitted in writing prior to the event with ample time for all pullers to agree and make changes to their vehicles.
II. Tech Inspections
1. All vehicles will be teched prior to the start of each class.
2. Vehicles will be placed on the staging table after being teched and not removed until positions are awarded to that class.
3. If you need to work on your vehicle after its been teched, it must be worked on before its your turn and it must be reteched before you pull, with permission of the track judge.
III. Protests
Any protest must be brought to the attention of an official at the time of infraction.
If the item protested is easily checkable, it will be verified at that time. Otherwise, it will be investigated at the conclusion of the class.
If the vehicle is found to be in violation, then forfeiture of the class is imposed and the vehicle is retained by the organization as a source for replacement parts.
Owner of that vehicle may remove add-ons prior to relinquishing the vehicle (switches, weights, etc.)
Event Officials word is final. Officials judgment on boundaries, staging, and pull distances are not protestable.
IV. New Rules
As the competitive levels have increased greatly over the past two years each vehicle will be weighed on a digital scale. The food scales used in the past were very close in measuring the weight of our vehicles but these days even oz. could give a leading edge. Thank you for your cooperation.
Trucks must be teched and signed up before the scheduled time of the event. If you cannot be there with your trucks make arrangements for the Event Officials to tech your trucks in for you. We must get started on time as the number of trucks have increased at every event.
Stock Class (2WD)
Stock Stomper Class 2WD & 4WD
Original Stomper Equipment Only
Any Style or Year of Stomper chassis, body, wheels or tires may be used except semis, tanks and Water Demons.
Light and High Gear may be removed from the chassis.
No Modifications to the gears, motor, wheelbase or chassis are allowed.
Body may be modified to hold added weights. Body may also be painted and detailed. Bumpers may be switched but must be of Stomper origin.
(1) AA Battery Allowed and must be used in factory position. Rechargeable Batteries are allowed.
Weight: Truck cannot weigh more than 4 oz.
Added weight cannot exceed further than 1 inch beyond the front bumper.
Factory switch must be used.
No modifications to the tires are allowed but you may glue them to the rims.
Super Stock Class 2WD & 4WD
Body and Chassis can be of Stomper or Rough Rider origin.
Any style or year of Stomper or Rough Rider chassis, body, wheels and tires can be used. Tank and Water Demon chassis may be used but treads and floatation wheels are not allowed.
Dual Wheels and Tires allowed.
Original square style motor must be used.
Gear modifications are allowed but must be used in factory position.
Switch may be moved or modified.
No more than (2) 1.5volt batteries of any size are allowed. Batteries can be placed anywhere on or in the vehicle but must look presentable.
Tires may be cut. No sandpaper or spikes allowed.
Weight: Vehicle cannot weigh more than 5oz.
Weight cannot extend 1" past the front bumper.
Modified Class 2WD & 4WD
Body and Chassis can be of a Stomper, Rough Rider or New Brite origin.
Dual wheels and tires of above equipment allowed.
Tires may be cut. No sandpaper or spikes allowed.
Any style motor and gears allowed.
Dual motors allowed.
Chassis and Body may be lengthened but must look presentable.
No more than 9 volts of power allowed.
Vehicle cannot exceed 3" High; 3 " Wide; and 5" in Length.
Vehicle cannot exceed 6.5 oz in Weight.
Weight cannot extend further than 1" past the front bumper.
Pro Modified Class 2WD & 4WD
Body and Chassis can be of a Stomper, Rough Rider or New Brite origin.
Tri Wheel and Tires of above equipment allowed.
Tires may be cut. No sandpaper or spikes allowed.
Any style motor and gear allowed.
Dual motors allowed.
Chassis and Body may be lengthened but must look presentable.
No more than 18 volts of power allowed.
Vehicle cannot exceed 4" High; 4 " Wide; and 5 " in Length.
Vehicle cannot exceed the weight of 9.5 oz.
Weight cannot extend further than 1 1/4" past the front bumper.
Mud Stock Class — Tire Rules
Mud Stock Class Tire Style1&2
Original "Stomper Style" Equipment Only. Hill Hustlers, Rough Riders, Super Climbers are allowed.
Water Demons, Tanks and Semis are not allowed in this class.
Style 1; Original skinny Schaper style tire only. Can be foam or rubber.
Style 2; Original wide Schaper or Rough Rider style tire only.
Tires may be cut. No Dual Wheels or Tires allowed. No semi tires allowed.
Light and High or Low gears may be removed.
Fenders or Fender Wells may be cut out and other body modifications are allowed but must look presentable.
AA Battery must be located in factory position.
Front Body Mounting Tab must be used and no modifications to the Front Tab are allowed. If modifications are necessary to repair a broken Tab it must be inspected and approved by the Track Official.
Rear Hitch cannot be higher than 1" from flat surface.
Vehicle must have a Front Bumper in the stock position and the ends cannot be cut off.
Vehicle cannot weigh less than 2.5 oz. and cannot weigh more than 4 oz.
Any amount of tape or silicone can be used to keep water out of the chassis.
Once a vehicle body has been used it cannot be switched over to another chassis.
